A tiny garden full of beauty
We ’re visiting with Terrie Lewine today :
I live in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia , in a rowhome . I call my garden the Urban Sanctuary . The garden is a body of work in progress ( as I imagine all gardeners say ! ) . I ’ve been here for more than six class , and I adore it . The garden is a mix of wraith and sunshine . In the front I haveraised bedsfor the usualherbsandveggies . I have two big trees , a holly(Ilexopaca , Zones 5–9 ) , and a Norway maple(Acerpseudoplatanus , Zones 4–7 ) that were here before me , kiwi berry vines(Actinidiasp . , ) , rose , many aboriginal , a pagoda with a hammock , and an outdoor drench tub . Lots to explore !
My focus has been food ( for all beings),nativespecies , and beauty .

This is an urban space , but there is a lot of beautiful garden beyond that gate .
An urbansanctuaryindeed — greenish and lush ; it is a wonderful blank space to sit , loosen , and savour .
A few Pisces live in thewater feature of speech , while next to them a pot full of fortunate creep Jenny ( Lysimachianummularia‘Aurea ’ , Zones 3–9 ) glows like a puddle of cheer .

One of the residents of the pee feature is the aboriginal pickerel grass ( Pontedetiacordata , Zones 3–10 ) , which has spike of beautifulpurple flowers .
More of the pickerel weed
cloud of white astilbe blooms ( Astilbe , Zones 4–9 )

twice - flower columbine ( Aquilegiahybrid , Zones 3–8 ) , with blooms in a sweet sugar pink
There ’s nothing like the dramatic play of a perfect rose blossom ; here , the hints of gold vividness echo thecreeping Jennybelow .
There is intellectual nourishment in the garden as well ; here , acucumberis quick to be foot and delight .

Some plants allow solid food for humans and other beings . This carpenter bee is enjoying the pollen on those white blossom that will , thanks to the pollinate efforts of the bee , develop into deliciousblackberries .
