More September Blooms.

My Garden Bloggers ’   Bloom Day post was rather hurried   this calendar month   and I missed out some beautiful flower which deserve to be included .   For example I   forget to include most of my lovely salvias .   One of my favourites is the bright pinkSalvia microphylla‘Wild Water Melon . ’ It has enceinte bright pink blossom with a pouched broken lip . I have quite a few new ones this twelvemonth which kind friend have given to me as cuttings . This oneSalvia greggiiiNachtvlinden ’ is the deepest purpleness . The name is Dutch for moth . I love the two - look pink on this one but I do n’t hump its name .

Salvia‘Wendy ’s regard ’ is not stout and I keep it in a pot .

Salvias are well-to-do from cuttings so it is always a good idea to keep some run as an policy insurance policy   Some of them like ‘ Water Melon ’ have survive   for a few year in my garden . But I know that they might not hold out a really cold winter . Salvia x jamensis‘Hot Lips ’ has prove hardy   for three years now . you’re able to see how it got its name . I’m not sure of the name of this next one but it seems to be hardy too . The tall turn perennialSalvia   uliginosaflowers until the first frost . I observe it in my last post and called itLobelia uliginosa . Oh dear , whatever was I thinking ? I changed it   quick but nevertheless quite a few people saw it . But nobody say a give-and-take .   I do n’t know whether nobody noticed or whether everyone was too cultured   to name it . So sorry , it is sure as shooting aSalviaand a lovely tall , sky -blue one . I make out it when the yellowClematis tanguticacomes out and scramble around behind it . I showed a few Asters or should I saySymphyotrichumlast time . Here are a couple more fabourites . The one above isAster cordifolius‘Photograph ’ with quite a little of little lavender bleached flowers . I love it and uprise it , as you see here , withChrysanthemum‘Dixter Orange ’ .

In the next photographAster frikartii ‘ Monch ’ grow   withDiasciaandRudbeckia . Behind is a yellow shrubbyPotentillawhich I would never have plant but I do n’t beware it at this clip of theyear . Still in this bed there is a adorable blueCaryopteris clandonensis‘Black Knight ’ . It is not black of course but it is a very sour blue . I get it with the stark whiteAnemone x hybrida‘Andrea Atkinson’ . It is probably not an ideal collaborator as theCaryopteriscan take drought and the Anemone ca n’t , but they seem to be all correct together so far .

For the back of my wide delimitation I have a very invasive , tallHelianthuswhich a friend gave me with the warning that it would take over if commit the luck . I care it and grow it with the tallVeronia crinita‘Mammuth ’ . I am proceed to solicit some of my girl ’s marvelous blueEchinopsto add to the group . Pretty in pink at the present moment I have a lovely late floweringEchinacea purpurea‘Vintage Wine ’ . It is a really dark colour and has very light petals . Many of the new hybrids do n’t last the winter butEchinacea purpureausually does .

A lovely pinkPenstemonwhich has been bloom for workweek is the delicious ‘ Connie ’s Pink ’

Phygelius‘African Queen ’ flowers earlier in the summer but is having another go now . I love its long horn shaped blossom .

I have bribe a newHydrangeacalledHydrangea paniculata‘Silver Dollar ’ . It is similar to my son ’s ‘ glare ’ but pure white rather than greenish . I have implant it most to the adorable , hardyBegonia grandissubsp.evansiana . The roses are having the best September blossoming that I can think . Here is   just one . The soft , pinkRosa‘Jacqueline du Pre ’ I love its passably pink , yellow tipped stamens . you’re able to see by all the raindrop that we have had rain at last . A thunderstorm came raging in yesterday and this probably marks the end of the summertime . Never mind , Autumn is good too , specially with so many late summer flower to enjoy . Even the straw of early blossom can be attractive . This is what stay on of myPeaonia suffruticosaflower . It has been a majuscule year for butterflies .   Yesterday while it was still very fond and cheery I managed to get a shot of this lovely Comma . It seems a safe path to say goodbye to the summer .

What an awesome collection of salvias , most I have never seen . Salvia microphylla has to be the most intriguing one . I find you say “ rainwater at last ” . In eastern North - America there were very few days without rainfall since other August . This summer has been declare the wettest in 20 geezerhood . Thank you for the tip about making film editing of Gaura the other week . I made some and they are already rooting !

I loved your collection of Salvias . We all mess up on industrial plant names once in a while . commonly with me it just stays on the pourboire of my tongue . I did a very shortsighted and sweet bloom Clarence Day post too this calendar month , just did n’t have time for the common story of what ’s flower .

Once again , I say , “ adorable , lovely , endearing , Chloris . ” for showing so many beautiful plant life I ’ve never date before . I never tire of wait at your blooming garden picture .

beautiful ! love the salvia watermelon :))

You have so much going on in your garden , Chloris ! I was surprised to see all the Salvias . My own orange Phygelius is hanging on my a screw thread and the Japanese windflower seem to be direct a pass this year – apparently , they all want more urine .

You have so many gorgeous Salvias … and Asters … and Hydrangeas … and … everything else ! It ’s been a great year for butterfly here , too . Lovely photos !

I also love salvias , especially their fragrant foliage and their attractiveness to hummingbird . All of your blooms are attend beautiful !

Oh I ’ve just added a pair of more salvia to the want list Chloris 🙂

Chloris what a mythic follow up … so many flowers I am not certain which is my favorite right now … but I wish well I could institute more salvia that would be audacious … you have so many lovely I .
