Propagation

In my now annual seed influx from theHardy Plant Society seeded player scheme , I sign up for a lucky dip packet which is made up from unaffixed seeds . These are escapees from envelope , spillage from the silverish teaspoonful used for scoop , that kind of thing . They are unnamed . As I mentionedlast meter , I do n’t have the expertness to distinguish the varieties from the seed , so each one will be a surprise .

I set two batches up . The first was sown willy - nilly in a single 7 atomic number 96 sight , then sting out into a half seed tray a few calendar week back . They looked like this at the weekend before I potted them on . They seem to be growing on nicely . I should be able to tell which are matching plant and group them consequently .

The 2nd batch I separated into radical of seeds found exclusively on appearance , and seed those groups into module . These have been on unheated staging and have only just set about to germinate ( the first batch was in the heated up bench and germinated very quickly ) .

But let ’s get back to batch one . I have pot them on , count according to whether I think they are matching plant . The game from here on is to sample to identify the plants as they develop . Can you spot any that look conversant ? worry to gauge ? Such fun .

I ’ll be back in a month or so for a secret seed update .
