Beauty at the end of the year
Today we ’re visit Jeanne Cronce ’s garden .
With almost 40 year of gardening behind me on our five land here in the PacificNorthwest , I am still hear about plants and how to turn them . There are so many different sort for every location and geographical zone . They sure bring a lot of therapy with them as they raise and as we bring up them . I would n’t swap it for anything else . So here are some colorful shots this fall — sad to say arrivederci , but what a way to snuff it the time of year !
This is a view of the tetrapanax(Tetrapanaxpapyrifera , Zones 6–10 ) on the right wing and a variegated sweet gum(Liquidambar styraciflua , Zones 5–9 ) on the leftfield . The center is ablueberry(Vaccinium),which has great color in the nightfall .

Katsura(Cercidiphyllum japonicum , Zones 4–8 ) is a marvelous tree if you have the space . On a ardent fall day the leaves have a warm sweet smell . The color in spring is a pinkish green .
An ‘ Aratama ’ Japanese maple(Acerpalmatum‘Aratama ’ , Zones 5–9 ) is a wonderfulsmall treewith year - circle colors — although good in twilight , of line . In the background knowledge is a ‘ Bloodgood’Japanese maple .
This beautiful color is provided by a coral barque Japanese maple(Acer palmatum‘Sango - kaku ’ zone 5–9).Acer griseum(paperbark maple , Zones 4–8 ) is draw up the scene in the foreground .

Here we have the funEucomis , or pineapple lily ( zone 6–10 ) . It is squeamish in both summertime and fall . It is full of seeds now , and they sprout quite easily .
This is a nicehydrangea . I know it as Wedding Bells(Hydrangea macrophylla , Zones 6–9 ) although I ’ve heard a few unlike names for it . It starts off white , then when it cools down in late summer it turn a wonderful green and then into this reddish color .
In the foreground is sumac(Rhustyphina , Zones 4–8 ) . Behind that is a variegated miscanthus grass(Miscanthussinensis , Zones 5–9 ) that is backed up by a weeping Alaskan cedar(Chamaecyparisnootkatensis‘Pendula ’ , Zones 4–7 ) .

This is an unknown variety of maple , but I ’m quite proud of with it and the surrounding plantings of fern and hardy begonia(Begoniagrandis , Zones 5–9 ) .
This is anAcer japonicum‘Aconitifolium ’ ( Zones 5–8 ) . The colors and the leaf conformation are very exciting . To the left field is a ‘ Raywood ’s crying ’ Arizona cypress(Cupressus arizonica‘Raywood ’s crying ’ , Zones 6–9 ) .
On the right can be see the summertime and come down color of the meleanthus(Meleanthus major , Zones 8–10 ) . It is a neat leafage works to have around . The pruned balls are boxwood honeysuckle(Loniceranitida , Zones 6–9 ) , which I would never utilise like this again because they shoot out new stems quite rapidly . I did this for their counterpoint color . It ’s play to try young theme , even though some do n’t always work well .
