DIY Raised Bed Seat

This “bed seat” will offer you more comfortable access to your raised beds, or simply let you enjoy what you’re growing.

Some of the most enjoyable times I have in my garden are when I can just ride or stand in the heart of it , and just look at everything . It is truly therapeutic after a foresighted 24-hour interval at the office . 8 . Wood jailer ( I used # 8 2 – 2 1/2″ long . Buying them by the corner is cheap )

9 . Sandpaper

Skill Level :

Construction :

1 . For purposes of this project , we ’ll practice the 2″ x 12″ x ten ’ plyboard . mold how extensive / long you wish to make the seat . Cut the 2″ x 12″ plywood to that length .

2 . Cut the 2″ x 2″ furring slip to the same length as you did the 2″ x 12″ seat piece(Photo A ) .

3 . Glue the furring strip show to the seat piece(Photo B ) . lease it dry to the glue ’s good word .

Now we ’re getting into the vital step . You ’ll need to get out how wide the triangular pieces , or “ fins ” need to be on the tush composition , as well as where to position it .

4 . Measure the heaviness of your raised bottom ’s frame . Then bestow between a 1/4″ to 1/2″ supererogatory to allow for conflict in frame thickness , warping , etc . 7 . For added durability , I put three wood screws into the furring strip strip(Photo H ) , and two each into the fins ( from the top side(Photo I ) . retrieve to drill pilot hole first .

8 . Other than doing any touchup sand , you ’re basically done . At this point , you’re able to apply the finish of your choice — grease , varnish , Mrs. Henry Wood sealer , paint — or merely go out it as is(Photo J ) .

So now you could go out and “ sit by the bottom ” .
